Streator would accept I-8 invite
If offered, Streator High School will accept an invtation to join the Interstate 8 Conference but not the Corn Belt Conference, Streator superintendent Kevin Myers to The Senior Reports website.
I-8 principals will meet Feb. 13 during which expansion talks are expected to be held.
If the I-8 does offer Streator an invitation to join, the school would still need approval from its school board at its Feb. 19 meeting to make the move. The approval may also be tabled until the March meeting.
Myers also told The Senior Reports that he informed the Corn Belt the school has decided to pursue other options.
