Peru Little League Baseball is holding registration from 8 a.m. to Noon Jan. 26 and from 5-8 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Peru City Hall.

Boys must turn age 7 before May 1 in order to register.

The fee is $100 for the first child and $75 for each additional child.

YMCA holding Big K basketball
The Illinois Valley YMCA will run Big K Basketball from 4-5 p.m. Mondays from Jan. 21-Feb. 25.

The program is designed to introduce Kindergarten students to the game of basketball.

The fee is $30 for YMCA members and $40 for non members.

YMCA sponsoring Rimball
The Illinois Valley YMCA is holding Rimball from 9-10 a.m. Saturdays from Jan. 26-Feb. 23.

The program for children ages 3-4 teaches the basics of basketball.

The fee is $30 for YMCA members and $40 for non members.

IVCC softball having clinic
The IVCC softball program is holdings its 14th Annual IVCC Eagles Softball Clinic on Feb. 16-17 in the college’s gymnasium.

Coaches and current players will offer instruction in hitting, bunting, fielding, throwing, base running and communication.

On Saturday, players in grades 2-4 will meet from 8-10:30 a.m. The age group will play from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Participants in grades 5-8 will go from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and will meet from 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday.

The cost is $30 per player, which includes a T-shirt. If a player can only attend one day, the cost is $20.

Players should bring a glove and tennis shoes. Players with a bat may bring it.

YMCA holding men’s basketball league
The Illinois Valley YMCA is accepting sign-ups for the 5-on-5 Men’s Corporate Basketball League. The full-court games are played after 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Jan. 30.

There are two divisions: A and B. There is a limit of 16 teams.

The team fee is $325. There is a $20 player fee for non-YMCA members.

Roster sheets are available at the courtesy counter. Roster sheets and fees are due Jan. 28.

Utica Knights of Columbus sponsoring free throw contest
The Utica Father Marquette Council Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a free throw contest Jan. 26 at Waltham South in Utica.

Doors open at 10 a.m. and the contest begins at 10:30 a.m.

The contest is open to children ages 10-14. There will be five classes of girls and five classes of boys.

There will be refreshments after the contest.

BV holding track coaches clinic
The Bureau County Track and Cross Country Coaches Clinic will be Feb. 2 at Bureau Valley High School in Manlius.

Registration is from 8:15-8:50 a.m. and the clinic begins at 9 a.m.

The cost is $60 if mailed before Jan. 22 and $85 if mailed after Jan. 22 or at the door.
