Area Roundup: L-P bowling teams fall

NT Sports Staff

The La Salle-Peru bowling teams both came up just short on Monday.

In Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference West Division duals at Streator, the L-P boys dropped a tight 3,447-3,425 match.

For the Cavaliers, Chris Reynolds rolled two 222 games as part of a 618 high series, while Luke Tomaszewski added a 233 high game as part of a 605 series.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as L-P lost by just 22 pins.

The Lady Cavs fell to Streator 2,993-2,933 despite winning two of the three games.

L-P’s Jess Temple had games of 223, 219 and 190 for a team-high 632 series. Gabbi McCabe added a 202 high game as part of a 536 series.

Peoria Heights 42, Henry 30
Down by a point after the first quarter, the Lady Mallards were unable to keep pace the final three quarters as they fell at home in Monday’s non-conference game.

Emma Cluskey had a team-high 10 points for Henry.

Somonauk 55, LaMoille-Ohio 36
Shiela Browning scored a team-high 16 points for the Lady Lions, but L-O lost the Little Ten Conference game Monday in Somonauk.

Indian Creek 58, Earlville-Leland 27
The Lady Red Raiders never got it going in Monday’s LTC contest in Shabbona.

Julie Musich had a team-high 13 points and five rebounds for E-L, while Carissa Miller added six points.
