Roundup: Princeton boys golf tops Putnam County

NT Sports Staff

Ian Nichols shot a 2-over-par 38 on Wednesday at Chapel Hill Golf Course in Princeton earn medalist honors and lead the PHS boys golf team to a 170-190 win over Putnam County.

Teammate Colby Robbins shot a 41, Miles Rose scored a 44 and Colton Erven had a 47.

Caleb Dzierznski led the Panthers with a 42.

Also scoring for PC were Mitch Aimone (45), Joe Cyr (48) and Austin Pflibsen (55).

Byron 157, La Salle-Peru 169
Tommy Somolski shot a 40 on Wednesday but it wasn’t enough as the La Salle-Peru boys golf team lost 157-169 to Byron at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Club.

Also scoring for L-P were Kyle Hanck (42), John Pohar (43) and Jack Derango (44).
Byron’s Dennis Reedy was medalist with a 35.

Woodland 175, Earlville 199
Earlville’s Grant Campbell fired a 38 to earn medalist honors Wednesday at Earlville Country Club.

Despite Campbell’s effort, Earlville lost 175-199 to Woodland.

Also scoring for Earlville were Matt Richards (51), Carter Imel (53) and Jack Prather (57).

Metamora 206, La Salle-Peru 206
Jacki Somolski shot a 48 on Wednesday as the La Salle-Peru girls golf team lost 206-211 to Metamora at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Club.

Lauren Gunia had a 50, Kalie Sudaj carded a 56 and Rahcel Senica added a 57 for L-P.

Metamora’s Laura Wiptler was medalist with a 46.
