Roundup: Henry advances to Princeville final

Four Henry boys basketball players scored in double figures Friday as the Mallards cruised into the Princeville Holiday Tournament championship game with a 70-50 victory over Elmwood.

Ryan Condit scored 19 points to pace the Mallards (12-0), who led 34-23 at halftime. Nathan Helle scored 17 points, Deven Guelde had 16 points and Kyle Henderson added 11.

DePue advanced in the consolation bracket with a 59-39 victory over Lowpoint-Washburn behind a game-high 19 points from Jesse Lopez.

Austin Zimmer scored 15 points and Edgar Moreno added 10 for the Little Giants.

Bureau Valley 46,   Mercer County 33
The Storm trailed 10-6 after the first quarter but outscored Mercer County 17-2 in the second quarter to propel themselves to victory in pool play at the Cliff Warkins Memorial Cardinal Classic on Friday.

Parker Neuhalfen scored a game-high 19 points to lead Bureau Valley.

Bloomington Central Catholic 65, Fieldcrest 50
The Knights fell behind 23-14 after the first quarter and couldn’t recover Friday in a State Farm Holiday Classic quarterfinal in Bloomington.

Matthew Modro, Drew Barth and Ryan Barth each scored 15 points for Fieldcrest.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Putnam County 51, Princeville 26
The Lady Panthers jumped ahead 16-2 after the first quarter and cruised in the Princeville Holiday Tournament.

Daniela Pavlovich scored a game-high 16 points for PC (14-1).

Marquette 48, Plano 42
Kendall Kaufmann scored a game-high 18 points Friday to lead the Lady Crusaders to victory at the Amboy Holiday Tournament.

Hunter Wright added 12 points for Marquette (8-6).

At Erie
Bureau Valley won twice Friday at the Cliff Warkins Memorial Cardinal Classic and is the only undefeated team in Pool A.

The Storm won 46-44 over Ridgewood and 48-44 over Stockton.

Against Ridgewood, Nicole Bornsheuer scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Darcy Kepner had a double-double against Stockton with 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Irini Petros scored 16 points.
