Roundup: Ottawa, Henry boys basketball teams win

Three Ottawa boys basketball players scored in double figures Tuesday to lead the Pirates to a 61-52 victory over Princeton in a non-conference game in Ottawa.

Isaac Gassman led Ottawa (7-2) with 15 points, Cody Stokes scored 12 points and John Carroll added 11 points.

Garrett Duffin scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Tigers (2-6), while J.J. Vaccaro added 15 points.

Henry 72, Annawan 56
The Mallards trailed at halftime, but outscored the Braves 19-8 in the third quarter and 23-8 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a non-conference victory Tuesday in Henry.

Nathan Helle led five Henry players in double figures with 17 points.

Deven Guelde scored 16 points for the Mallards (9-0), Ryan Condit had 14 points, Kyle Henderson contributed 12 points and Jake Schlosser added 11 points.

Leland-Earlville 65, Lowpoint-Washburn 39
Colin Bomstad scored 22 points, swiped four steals and dished out three assists Tuesday to help the Panthers to a non-conference victory on the road.

Nolan Baumbach had 11 points, seven assists and three steals for L-E (2-8), while Brandon Lowry added 14 points, four rebounds and three assists.

BOYS BOWLING
Ottawa 3,318, La Salle-Peru 3,284
Nick Worley rolled a 636 series Tuesday to lead the Pirates to a Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference victory over the rival Cavaliers in Ottawa.

Nathan Stubler bowled a 619 series to pace L-P.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Dixon 56, Princeton 23
Zoe Mead scored nine points Tuesday as the Tigresses dropped a non-conference game in Dixon.

Princeton trailed 34-13 at halftime.
