Roundup: Ottawa to play for title

The Ottawa boys basketball team will play in the title game of its own Dean Riley Shootin’ the Rock Tournament after beating Oak Forest 57-46 Friday.

The Pirates led 27-18 at halftime and held the Bengals scoreless the final 3:46 of the game.

Ottawa will face Yorkville for the title at 5:30 p.m. today.

Dixon 50, Princeton 43
Garrett Duffin scored 16 points Friday, but the Tigers fell at the Orion Tip-Off Tournament.

Ashton-Franlin Center 73, LaMoille-Ohio 68
The Lions led after three quarters but were outscored 18-11 in the final eight minutes to let the game slip away at the Ashton-Franklin Center Tournament on Friday.

Jacob Tudor led L-O with 13 points, Anthony Lovgren scored 11 points and Jeffry Delong added 10 points.

Joliet Central JV 77, Leland-Earlville 56
Colin Bomstad had 25 points, five rebounds and three assists Friday, but it wasn’t enough as the Panthers fell at the Dwight Tournament.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Kewanee Wethersfield 43, St. Bede 34
Hanna Bima scored a team-high 10 points Friday as the Lady Bruins lost at the Brimfield Turkey Tournament.

Laura Sickley added eight points for St. Bede, which trailed 23-13 at halftime.
