Dani Aurit, Marquette
Season highlights: Aurit capped her stellar prep career with her first all-state medal as she ran an 18:12 to place 24th at the Class 1A state meet at Detweiller Park in Peoria. She was there with her team as she placed seventh at the Oregon Sectional to help the Lady Crusaders to a team berth. Aurit also placed second at the Seneca Regional in 20:02.
Paige Aurit, Marquette
Season highlights: Aurit was Marquette's No. 2 runner throughout the season. She ran a 20:29 at the Class 1A Oregon Sectional - Marquette's second-best time - to help the Lady Crusaders to their first-ever team state berth. Aurit also placed 10th in 21:37 at the Seneca Regional to help Marquette take second - just one point behind champion Henry-Midland.
Maria Baldwin, Fieldcrest
Season highlights: Baldwin ended her prep career in a familiar place as she earned all-state status for a third time by placing 21st in 18:07 at the Class 1A state meet at Detweiller Park in Peoria. To get to state, Baldwin won the Seneca Regional in 19:42 and placed fourth in the Oregon Sectional despite getting sick the night before.
Megan Krolak, La Salle-Peru
Season highlights: L-P's No. 2 runner throughout the season made a return trip to the state meet by placing an area-best seventh in 18:22 at the Class 2A Normal Community West Sectional. She also finished second at the Crete-Monee Regional to help the Lady Cavaliers advance as a team and capped her season with an 87th-place run at state.
Zoe Mead, Princeton
Season highlights: Princeton's top runner nearly ended her final prep season at the state meet at Detweiller Park in Peoria. Mead placed 17th in 20:22 at the Class 1A Oregon Sectional to come within four spots of an individual state berth. She was the lone Tigress to advance to the sectional as she placed 13th in 21:49 at the Seneca Regional.
Ronna Pettis, Henry-Midland
Season highlights: There was no sophomore slump for Pettis as she helped the Lady Mallards to the Class 1A Seneca Regional title by finishing a team-best third in 20:21. She placed 11th at the Oregon Sectional to help H-M earn a return trip to the state meet at Detweiller Park in Peoria. Pettis capped her season with an 84th-place finish at state.
Lesley Rocha, La Salle-Peru
Season highlights: The 2013 NT Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year was great from start to finish. She opened the season with a record 18:58 at the Morris Early Bird Invitational and ended it with a 20th-place all-state finish at the Class 2A state meet. Rocha also won the Crete-Monee Regional and took eighth at the Normal Community West Sectional.
