Community Sports Notes: La Salle-Peru looking for girls soccer coach

La Salle-Peru Township High School is looking for a girls soccer coach for the 2014 season, which runs February through May.

Candidates must have ISBE certification and/or IHSA/ASEP/NFHS coaching certificate, a background check through District 120 and CPR/AED certification.

Oglesby BB Gun Club signup

The Oglesby BB Gun Club is holding signups from 5-7 tonight at Oglesby City Hall.
The club is open to Oglesby residents who will be 9 by Jan. 1.

There is no fee and all guns, BBs and targets are provided. The club is sponsored by the Oglesby Police and the parks and recreation department.

Little Saints Wrestling Club registration

Registration for the Little Saints Wrestling Club is 6-8 p.m. Friday in the parlor room at St. Bede Academy.

The club is for wrestlers ages 8-14. Those registering should bring a copy of a birth certificate and a copy of a sports physical.

IVVP meeting, tryouts

The Illinois Valley Volley Power club volleyball program is holding a mandatory informational meeting and registration for its 15-and-under, 16U, 17U and 18U teams.

The meeting is from 6-7 p.m. Sunday at the IVCC lower gymnasium.

Tryouts are Nov. 17 in the IVCC lower gym.

Tryouts for full season 15U-18U teams will be from 1-3 p.m. with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the gym lobby.

There is a non-refundable tryout fee of $35. Participants also need a current USA Volleyball membership and a signed medical waiver.

PTVBC registration

Registration for the PTVBC volleyball club is Nov. 20 at the Logan Grade School gym in Princeton.

The club is open to any girl in high school. Girls in eighth grade will be considered, but registration check for IESA members is required.

Practice times are after 6 p.m. Wednesdays. The club plays five a maximum of five tournaments Sundays between January and May.

The club has an all-play policy.
