Roundup: Putnam County advances to TCC semis

The Putnam County volleyball team cruised into the Tri-County Conference Tournament semifinals with a 25-13, 25-9 victory over Lowpoint-Washburn on Tuesday at Midland.

Taylor Erjasvek had eight kills, one ace and a block for the top-seeded Lady Panthers (20-2-1), while Emily Whitney served up 12 points.

Putnam County will face No. 4 Roanoke-Benson at 6 tonight.

LaMoille-Ohio def. Hinckley-Big Rock 14-25, 25-21, 25-21
The Lady Lions remained undefeated in Little Ten Conference action with a victory Tuesday in Hinckley.

Erin Bennett had 16 assists, seven points and three kills, Shiela Browning put down 14 kills to go along with six points and three aces and Ragen Forbes added 21 digs.

L-O (7-0 LTC) plays Newark on Thursday in LaMoille in a battle of the only two unbeaten LTC squads.

Sherrard def. Hall 30-28, 25-19
Brenna Faletti had 17 digs Tuesday as the Lady Red Devils dropped a Three Rivers Conference South Division match in Spring Valley.

Brooke Keegan had 12 assists and five digs, while Elle Herrmann added six kills.

Leland-Earlville def. Paw Paw 25-20, 25-22
Rylee Stiles had nine points, six kills and a pair of aces Tuesday to help the Lady Panthers to a Little Ten Conference victory in Paw Paw.

Alexis Maxwell put down eight kills and had seven digs, while Carissa Miller added 11 assists for L-E (4-18-1, 2-5 LTC).

Sterling def. Ottawa 25-13, 25-17
Emily Hackler had 14 digs and Jordan Hayne added five kills Tuesday as the Lady Pirates fell in a Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference West Division match in Ottawa.

The Cavaliers dropped a Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference West Division road game.
