The Princeton girls tennis team defended its home courts with a 5-0 sweep of St. Bede Tuesday in Three Rivers Conference South Division action in Princeton.
Jen O’Neil and Courtney Webb both earned singles wins for PHS.
In other action, Brittany Krohn and Anjali Patel won in No. 1 doubles, Laura Behrends and Emma Reidner teamed up to take the win in No. 2 doubles and Maleena Wheeler and Megan Smith finished off the sweep for the Tigresses with a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 3 doubles.
La Salle-Peru def. Kaneland 25-15, 25-14
The Lady Cavaliers continued their perfect start to the season Tuesday with a Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference crossover win over the Lady Knights on the road in Kaneland.
La Salle-Peru advances to 8-0 with the victory.
Princeton def. Orion 25-19, 25-22
The Tigresses moved to 2-0 in Three Rivers Conference South Division action and 7-1 overall with the win over the Lady Chargers Tuesday in Orion.
Princeton setter Michelle Kelly spread out 23 assists and added six digs and six service points. Also for PHS, Becca Hult led the Tigresses up front at the net with nine kills, Mollie Bates scooped up eight digs, while Taylor Clark served up 11 points.
Bureau Valley def. Amboy 25-21, 25-19
Bureau Valley’s Valerie Reuter pounded out seven kills and Lindsey Hoffert added six kills and a team-best seven digs as the Storm picked up the Three Rivers Conference North Division win over the Lady Clippers Tuesday in Amboy.
BV setter Sydney Lebahn doled out 18 assists in the win.
La Salle-Peru 206, Fieldcrest 225
Hannah Plackett led the Lady Cavaliers with a medalist round of 50 as L-P picked up the non-conference win over the Lady Knights Tuesday at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Club.
Also for L-P, Jacki Somolski shot a 51, Rachel Gunia turned in a 52, and Kalie Sudaj rounded out the card with a 53.
Madison Tjaden led the way for Fieldcrest with a 56.
Led by a medalist round of 44 from Gabby Mendoza, St. Bede shot a team score of 203 to beat both El-Paso (234) and Midland (271) Tuesday at Lacon Country Club.
Also for the Academy, Sydney Eustice shot a 49 while Aiko Mendoza had a 54 and Tess Montez shot a 56.
IVCC def. Sauk Valley
15-25, 25-15, 25-23, 18-25, 15-13
Former St. Bede spiker Kayla MacDavitt had 14 kills and six blocks to help lead IVCC to a five-set win over Sauk Valley in Arrowhead Conference play Tuesday in Dixon.
Former L-P standout Taylor Gunia added 25 digs and Hall alumna Johnna Schultz spread out 21 asssists in the win for IVCC.
The IVCC men’s golf team finished 11th out of 16 teams Tuesday with a score of 320 in the University of St. Francis Invitational at Inwood Golf Course in Joliet.
Baley Lehr led IVCC shooting a 77, while Kyle Chase shot a 78.
