Area roundup: L-P tennis beats Princeton

The La Salle-Peru tennis team won a singles match and two doubles matches Monday to earn a 3-2 non-conference victory over Princeton at Hegeler Park in La Salle.

Tara Ketner won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.

In doubles, Katie Wellner and Anna Konczak won the first set 6-4 before receiving a forfeit in the second set, while Jena Argubright and Katherine Kaszynski earned a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 2.

For Princeton, Jen O’Neil won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Emma Reidner and Megan Smith were 6-1, 7-5 victors at No. 3 doubles.

BOYS SOCCER
Earlville-Leland 2, Rock Island Alleman 1
Kyle Martin scored on a header off a corner kick and Colin Bomstad added a goal as the Red Raiders earned a non-conference victory Monday in Earlville.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Henry def. Peoria Heights 25-22, 25-23
Amanda Kereta has 18 assists and three aces Monday as the Lady Mallards won a non-conference match in Henry.

Jenah Anderson added four kills, three aces and two blocks for Henry (1-2).

IVC def. Ottawa 25-5, 18-25, 25-15
Kenzie Rombach had seven kills, four blocks, four digs and an ace Monday as the Lady Pirates dropped a non-conference match on the road.
