Briefs: Spring Valley LL softball advances to title game

NT Sports Staff

The Spring Valley Little League softball team is a win away from a District 20 championship.

The squad beat Peru 6-4 Thursday at Veterans Park in Peru to advance into Saturday’s 1 p.m. title game.

Spring Valley will play the winner of tonight’s 6 p.m. elimination game between Peru and La Salle.

If Spring Valley wins Saturday or in Sunday’s 1 p.m. if necessary game, it will win the district title.

La Salle stayed alive in the double-elimination tournament Thursday as it beat Mendota 15-12.

Olson, Fusion 17U Black wins title
La Salle-Peru setter and senior to-be Katie Olson and her Fusion 17U Black club volleyball team won its second consecutive AAU Girls Junior National Volleyball championship Tuesday in Orlando.
