Roundup: L-P baseball takes series from Geneseo

Adam Happ went 3-for-4 and drove in five runs Wednesday to lead the La Salle-Peru baseball team to a 10-7 victory over Geneseo in a Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference West Division game on the road.

Kyle Rothrock earned the win for the Cavaliers.

Annawan-Wethersfield 9, Hall 7
Blake Moreno went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs Wednesday as the Red Devils fell in a non-conference home game.

Brett Fanning was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Hall (16-5), while Austin Schmitt took the loss in relief.

Ottawa 4, Pontiac 0
Alex Miller allowed just one hit as he tossed a shutout Wednesday to lead the Pirates to a non-conference victory in Pontiac.

Kyle Wallbaum was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Ottawa (17-2), while Seth Coffey went 2-for-2 with a pair of runs.

Fieldcrest 4, Bloomington Central Catholic 2
Brady Sanders tossed a complete game Wednesday to help the Knights to a non-conference victory in Wenona.

Sanders allowed two unearned runs on five hits while striking out four and walking one.

Jordan Henkel hit a two-run single with two outs in the sixth to lift Fieldcrest (5-15).

BOYS TENNIS
Dixon 3, Mendota 2
Cody Phalen won 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to help the Trojans to victory in Dixon.

The No. 2 doubles team of Jon Hohertz and Nick Phalen were 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 winners for Mendota (7-3).

SOFTBALL
Minooka 11, Ottawa 0, 5 inn.
Lindsey Greene and Mary Richardson accounted for the Lady Pirates only two hits in a non-conference loss Wednesday in Ottawa.

Jaleesa Kindred took the loss for Pttawa (6-8).
