The St. Bede baseball team pounded out 19 hits Wednesday in a 20-1 rout of Pontiac at the Academy.

Brad Groleau went 4-for-4 with a triple, a double and three RBIs. He also improved to 4-0 on the mound by allowing no earned runs on four hits.

Steven Ebener had a double, two singles and drove in four runs, while Austin Schwab and Logan Bima each had three RBIs for the Bruins (14-1).

Marquette 5, Peoria Christian 2
Logan Sparks went 2-for-4, drove in a run and scored three times Wednesday to help the Crusaders to a Tri-County Conference victory in Peoria.

Tyler Verona allowed one run on no hits with 10 strikeouts and eight walks in five innings to earn the win. Andrew Allen pitched a scoreless 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout to pick up the save for the Cru (9-3, 1-1 TCC).

Kewanee 12, Mendota 2, 5 inn.
Jaron Robinson went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI Wednesday as the Trojans dropped a non-conference game in Mendota.

Robinson also took the loss on the mound for the Trojans (5-14).

Tri-Valley 12, Fieldcrest 1, 5 inn.
Brady Sanders drove in Fieldcrest’s lone run as they lost a Heart of Illinois Conference game Wednesday in Wenona.

He also took the loss on the mound for the Knights (2-15, 2-6 HOIC).

Sandwich 5, Mendota 4
The Lady Trojans gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lose a non-conference game Wednesday in Sandwich.

Michaela DeLong went 1-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. DeLong threw three scoreless innings before being relieved by Ashlyn Kennedy, who took the loss.

Rochelle 17, Earlville-Leland 1, 5 inn.
Kristina Morsovillo went 2-for-3 with a double and scored E-L’s lone run as the Lady Red Raiders dropped a non-conference game Wednesday in Rochelle.

Morsovillo also took the loss in the circle for E-L (7-7).
