The St. Bede boys squad won eight events Wednesday to win a six-team meet at Putnam County.

The Bruins scored 162 points to beat Marquette (94), Lowpoint-Washburn (72), Stark County (61), Putnam County (57) and Indian Creek (36).

Steven Gualandri led the way for the Bruins as he won the 300-meter hurdles in 41.03 seconds and the 200 in 23.68 seconds.

The Bruins also claimed the 3,200 relay (9:33.45), the 400 relay (47.18) and the 1,600 relay (3:49.7).

Other winners for SBA were Neal Knauf in the 110 hurdles (17.66), Leo Lopez in the 800 (2:10.59) and Michael Slingsby in the shot put (46 feet, 1 inch).

Isaac Jewett won the 100 (11.85) and the triple jump (39-4) to pace the Crusaders, while Kurt Nabers took the 3,200 (14:14) for Putnam County.

In the girls meet, the host Lady Panthers were the top area team with a third-place finish with 96 points.

Stark County won with 161 and Indian Creek was second with 125. Marquette (72) was fourth followed by Lowpoint-Washburn (48) and St. Bede (44).

For PC, Ashlyn Haage won the 3,200 (14:14.44) and Paige Griffith claimed the 300 hurdles (50.02). The Lady Panthers also won the 800 relay (1:56.47).

McKenzie Mattes won the 100 (13.3) to pace the Lady Crusaders, who also won the 1,600 relay (4:26.21).
