Roundup: Princeton soccer tops Ottawa

Michelle Kelly scored four goals Monday to lead the Princeton girls soccer team to a 4-2 non-conference win over Ottawa in Ottawa.

Briggitte Flowers had a goal and an assist for Ottawa. Emma O’Dell also scored.

SOFTBALL
Putnam County 5, Streator 2
Sophomore Annie Miller blasted a three-run homer to center field as part of a five-run third inning to lead the Lady Panthers to a non-conference win on the road.

Stillman Valley 2, Mendota 0
Ashlyn Kennedy took the pitching loss as Mendota fell in a Big Northern Conference West Division game in Stillman Valley.

Earlville-Leland 6, Indian Creek 3
Julie Musich went 2-for-3 with a triple, a run and two RBIs to lift E-L to a Little Ten Conference win at home.

BOYS TRACK
At Granville
Steven Gualandri (300-meter hurdles, triple jump, Justin Shaw (100, 200) and Michael Slingsby (shot put, discus) each won two events Monday as St. Bede cruised to victory in a four-team meet at Putnam County.

SBA finished with 134 points to top PC (53),  Indian Creek (48) and DePue (5).

Jacob Levy (high jump) and Mario Flores (long jump) won events for PC.

GIRLS TRACK
At Princeton
Phoenix Smallwood swept the jumps Monday as the host Tigresses edged Mendota for second-place at a three-team meet.

Dixon won with 68 points. PHS had 55.5 points and Mendota had 54.5.

Madison Myers won the 100 and 200 for MHS.

BASEBALL
Princeton 10, Henry 5
Nick Rolando had two hits, including a triple, and a pair of RBIs Monday to lead the Tigers to a non-conference victory at Henry.

Earlville-Leland 7, Indian Creek 6, 8 inn.
J.J. Clason went 3-for-5 with a triple, two doubles, an RBI and three runs Monday to help E-L to a Little Ten Conference win in Earlville.

BOYS TENNIS
Mendota 3, Sterling 2
Cody Phalen and Joey Meyer each won at singles Monday, while James Carroll and Mark Prescott won at No. 1 doubles to lift the Trojans to a non-conference victory over Sterling in Mendota.

Princeton 5, Morris 4
Garrett Kostello and Zach Hicks each won at singles and also teamed up to win at No. 3 doubles to lead the Tigers to a non-conference victory Monday in Princeton.
