The La Salle-Peru baseball team got in the win column Saturday with a pair of routs of Rockford Auburn at Veterans Park in Peru.
The Cavs won 16-0 and 19-1.
Bret Storm had a triple, double and six RBIs combined in the two games.
In the 16-1 opening win, Austin Smith and Adam Happ combined for a no-hitter.
Kyle Rothrock was the winner in L-P’s 19-1 victory in the second game.
Kyle Jenkins went 3-for-3 with three runs for the Cavs (2-1).
Hall 10-10, Serena 0-0
The Red Devils needed just 10 innings to sweep a doubleheader with Serena on Saturday in Spring Valley.
In Hall’s 10-0 win in the opener, Danny Nolasco went 2-for-4 with two RBIs while also earning the win on the mound. He allowed one hit with five strikeouts and one walk in four innings.
Brett Fanning tossed a scoreless fifth with three strikeouts. Taggart Venegas went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.
In the second 10-0 victory, Venegas went 2-for-3 with an RBI and earned the win on the mound by giving up two hits and striking out six in four innings. Pete Mautino pitched a scoreless fifth.
Marquette 17, Fieldcrest 8
Curtiss Johnson and Elliot Kowalski each drove in four runs Saturday as the Crusaders beat Fieldcrest in a non-conference game in Ottawa.
Johnson went 4-for-4 with two runs, while Kowalski was 3-for-4 with three runs. Marquette is now 5-1.
Jonathan Panzica went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run for Fieldcrest (0-2).
