L-P tops Sterling, Soderholm breaks 1,000 points

The La Salle-Peru boys basketball team escaped Sterling with a 46-45 victory Friday to finish 10-0 in the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference West Division.

L-P senior Jens Soderholm scored a game-high 20 points to break 1,000 for his career. He also grabbed seven rebounds.

L-P led 20-10 after the first quarter, but the Golden Warriors rallied within three points at halftime at 25-22.
The teams played even in the third and Sterling outscored L-P 14-12 in the final eight minutes.

Brady Huebbe and Noah Lamboley each had 11 points for the Cavaliers (17-9).
