Area roundup: Fieldcrest caps perfect HOIC season

Brady Sanders scored a game-high 29 points Friday as the Fieldcrest boys basketball team wrapped up a perfect Heart of Illinois Conference season with a 79-45 rout of Fisher in Minonk.

The Knights finish the regular season 22-5 overall and 12-0 in the conference.

Kyle Crowley scored 17 points and Nick Panzica added 15 for Fieldcrest, which led 22-11 after the first quarter and 50-21 at halftime.

Hall 55, Roanoke-Benson 51, 2 OT
The Red Devils capped the regular season with a double overtime victory in a Tri-County Conference game on the road.

Putnam County 74, DePue 57
Harold Fay scored a game-high 25 points Friday as the Panthers wrapped up the outright Tri-County Conference regular season championship with a win in DePue.

The Panthers (21-7, 7-2 TCC) jumped out to a 21-11 lead after the first quarter and a 37-23 halftime advantage.

Jose Raya led DePue (6-14, 1-8) with 13 points.

Byron 65, Mendota 49
Trae Blumhorst scored 17 points as the Trojans fell in a Big Northern Conference West Division game in Byron.

Henry 55, Lowpoint-Washburn 36
The Mallards trailed 13-11 after the first quarter, but responded in the second with 24 points to take a 35-17 lead at the break en route to a Tri-County Conference victory in Henry.

Ryan Condit scored a game-high 18 points for Henry (20-6, 7-2 TCC), while Nathan Helle added 14 points.
