Roundup: Henry, Ottawa boys basketball win

The Henry boys basketball team got defensive on Tuesday.

After the Mallards took a 22-15 lead in the first quarter of the non-conference game against Serena, Henry held the Huskers to just 18 points combined over the final three quarters to earn the 58-33 victory.

Serena managed just four points in the second quarter, six in the third and four in the fourth.

Nathan Helle scored a game-high 18 points for Henry, while Ryan Condit chipped in 13 points and Kyle Henderson 10 points in the victory.

Ottawa 54, Yorkville 46
The Pirates earned their 20th victory of the season with the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference crossover win Tuesday in Yorkville.

Ottawa outscored the Foxes 17-12 in the fourth quarter to put the finishing touches on the win.

John Carroll scored a game-high 14 points for Ottawa (20-4), while J.D. Bryant added nine points in the win.

Leland-Earlville 55, LaMoille-Ohio 51
Down after three quarters, the Panthers outscored the Lions 19-7 in the fourth quarter to earn the Little Ten Conference win Tuesday in LaMoille.

Andrew Walsh scored a team-high 21 points for L-E (9-16), which won its third straight game.

Williamsfield 77, DePue 53
Jose Raya and Alex Lopez both scored a game-high 16 points but the Little Giants fell Tuesday at home.

Williamsfield had six players score in double figures, but DePue stayed within striking distance at half as it only trailed 40-31.

However, Williamsfield outscored the Little Giants 17-11 in the third quarter to break open the game.

Eureka 46, Fieldcrest 32
In a showdown of regional opponents, the Knights dropped the non-conference game Tuesday in Eureka.

Brady Sanders scored a game-high 15 points for Fieldcrest (21-5).
