Community Sports Notes: Events scheduled for Ottawa at L-P boys basketball

A handful of events will be held at La Salle-Peru High School when the Cavaliers play host to Ottawa Feb. 15.

At the event, the teams are joining forces to hold a Hoops for Lily Night to help raise money for Lily Rosploch.

Also at the game, the L-P cheerleaders will be holding its ‘Cheer with a Mouthful’ pregame dinner from 5-7 p.m.

Cost is $6 and includes a BBQ sandwich or two hot dogs, chips, soda and dessert.
Tickets can be purchased from an L-P cheerleader, coach Holly Rathbun or at the door.

The supper will be held in the old cafeteria room 201.

A take-home container of BBQ is also available for $9.

Scholarship available to L-P senior athletes
Applications for athletic scholarships are now available for senior athletes at La Salle-Peru Township High School. Scholarships range from $300 to $1,000. All applications are due March 1.

If interested, stop in the L-P athletic office.

City of Peru mandatory field usage meeting
Any organization interested in using the City of Peru’s softball and baseball diamonds this summer must attend a mandatory meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at Peru’s City Hall building. Remember to bring your schedules.

Peru Little League holding late registration
Peru Little League will accept registration during the month of February.

Instructions for registration can be found online at http://www.eteamz.com/peruillinois/news/. Forms are asked to be turned in by Feb. 23 to Robert Mitchell, 10 Baker Park Ave., Peru, IL 61354.

Bi-County baseball/softball registration
Bi-County Little League is holding registration for summer baseball and softball.

Signups can be done in person or online. Registration forms can be found online at www.eteamz.com/bicountybaseballandsoftball starting Saturday.

In person registration can be done at the Granville Village Hall from 1-2:30 p.m. Feb. 9, 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 13 and 10-11:30 a.m. Feb. 16.

Princeton boys basketball shootout
The Princeton High School Athletic Boosters will be holding the 18th annual Princeton Shootout Feb. 23-24 for teams in grades 5-8.
