Roundup: Ottawa boys basketball wins 13th in a row

Another day, another win for the Ottawa boys basketball team.

The Pirates kept on rolling Friday as Ottawa earned a 50-41 Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference victory in Geneseo.

The win was the 13th straight victory for the Pirates (16-3, 5-1 NIB 12 West), who have not lost since falling to IVC on Dec. 11.

In Friday’s win, the Pirates led 31-20 after three quarters and scored all 19 of their fourth-quarter points from the foul line. Ottawa went nearly the final 10 minutes of the game without making a field goal.

Nick Harsted went 11-for-13 from foul line in the game and scored a game-high 13 points for Ottawa, while Cody Stokes added 12 points and went 9-for-12 from the foul line.

Bureau Valley 44, Morrison 34
Parker Neuhalfen scored a game-high 13 points as the Storm earned the Three Rivers Athletic Conference win Friday night in Morrison.

The Storm (17-10, 6-6 TRAC) took a 15-7 lead after the first quarter and outscored the Mustangs (3-22, 0-10 TRAC) 10-4 in the fourth quarter.

Brian Lange and Hunter Klemme added seven points apiece for BV.

Ridgeview 51, Fieldcrest 44
The Knights’ quest to win back-to-back Heart of Illinois Conference/McLean County Tournament titles ended Friday with the semifinal loss at the Shirk Center in Bloomington.

Fieldcrest (16-4) scored just eight points in the first half but cut the deficit to 27-21 after three quarters and pulled to 42-39 with 1:47 remaining.

However, Ridgeview went 9-for-10 from the foul line the rest of the way to seal the win.

Brady Sanders scored a team-high 18 points for Fieldcrest, while Jackson Puetz added 16 points off the bench.

Paw Paw 61, Leland-Earlville 56
Tom Johnson scored 19 points, but the Panthers fell in the Little Ten Conference game Friday in Earlville.

J.J. Clason added 12 points for L-E (6-14, 2-5 LTC).

Hinckley-Big Rock 61, LaMoille-Ohio 37
The Lions could not keep pace with the Royals as they fell in Friday’s LTC game in LaMoille.
