During her time at Hall High School, Darcy Earley has coached many sports.
From softball to volleyball to girls basketball, Earley has coached a little of everything, so it was only fitting that on Wednesday she added something new.
At Wednesday’s Hall High School Board meeting, Earley was named the school’s new girls soccer coach.
She takes over the program from former coach Harlan Franklin.
“I have coaching experience in a lot of sports, but I’ve only coached little kids soccer before,” Earley said. “However, I know the rules of the game, know how to condition and know the concepts. I researched it and also made sure it was OK with my family because I coach two sports and drive 40 miles to work already as it is.”
Franklin, who coached the team since the program’s inception, stepped down as coach at the end of last season and Connor Williams was hired over the summer as his replacement. However, Williams resigned as coach a few weeks later, which eventually led to Earley’s hiring.
Soccer practices begin Feb. 25 and with the first game March 12.
“This will definitely be a good learning experience for the girls,” Earley said. “It’ll take some team discipline and they are going to have to apply themselves.”
Earley came to Hall in 2003 when she became the school’s softball coach. She coached the Lady Red Devils for three seasons.
