Roundup: IVCC women beat Sauk Valley

IVCC sophomore Arnisha Thomas had a huge game Thursday.

Thomas poured in a game-high 35 points to lead the Lady Eagles to an 80-64 victory over Sauk Valley in an Arrowhead Conference game in Dixon.

Freshman and Ottawa alumna Kara Kistenfeger added 16 points.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
Sauk Valley 88, IVCC 78
Alec Schwab scored a team-high 27 points and Michael Murray added 20 points, but IVCC fell in Thursday’s Arrowhead Conference in Dixon.

JoVonn Griffin added eight points and a team-high eight rebounds for IVCC, which trailed 35-28 at half and allowed Sauk Valley to scored 53 second-half points.

BOYS BOWLING
Ottawa 3307, St. Bede 2939
Austin Phillips rolled a 237 high game as part of a 645 series as the Pirates earned the win Thursday in Ottawa.

Nathaniel Kirby added a 227 high game as part of a 601 series for the Pirates.

GIRLS BOWLING
Hall 2956, Mendota 2607
Kaitlyn Padgett threw a 203 high game as part of a 600 series as the Lady Red Devils rolled to the win Thursday in Ladd.

Cherokee Gillispie added a 500 series for Hall, while Hollie Reppin led MHS with a 470 series.

WRESTLING
At Pontiac
The La Salle-Peru wrestling team cruised to a pair of wins in Thursday’s triangular.

The Cavs had little problems in earning a 51-15 victory over Princeton, and then pulled away late for a 48-27 win over Pontiac.

No other results were submitted.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Tremont 62, Fieldcrest 59
Haley Ruestman scored 32 points and Tessa Holland had a double-double, but the Lady Knights fell in the Heart of Illinois Conference game Thursday in Minonk.

Ruestman added four rebounds to go with her game-high 32 points, while Holland had 14 points, 11 rebounds and three assists.

The game was tied at 31 at halftime, but Tremont outscored Fieldcrest 19-15 in the third quarter to take a lead it held onto.

IVC 53, Princeton 40
McCaela May scored 12 points and Zoe Mead contributed 10 points, but the Tigresses fell in the NCIC game Thursday in Chillicothe.

PHS led 8-6 after the first quarter but trailed by four points at half and after the third quarter.

Fulton 49, Bureau Valley 27
Shannon Reuter scored six points and Heaven Bennett grabbed 13 rebounds, but the Storm fell in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference game Thursday in Manlius.

Somonauk 47, Earlville-Leland 27
The Lady Red Raiders fell Thursday in the Little Ten Conference Tournament consolation semifinal at Serena.

Kristina Morsovillo scored a team-high 10 points for E-L (2-13).
