Roundup: Crowley scores 40 to help Fieldcrest rout Tremont

Fieldcrest senior Kyle Crowley had a career night Tuesday.

The guard lit up the scoreboards for 40 points to lead the Knights to a 75-55 victory over Tremont in a Heart of Illinois Conference game in Minonk.

Crowley made 15 2-point baskets and one 3-pointer while hitting 7-of-9 free throws. He scored 23 of his points in the first half as Fieldcrest built a 52-32 halftime lead.

Nick Panzica added 12 points for the Knights (14-3, 7-0 HOIC).

Putnam County 65, Serena 56
The Panthers led 36-30 at halftime and pulled away by outscoring the Huskers 19-7 in the third quarter in a non-conference game Tuesday in Granville.

Xavier Warren scored a game-high 18 points for the Panthers, while Harold Fay had 11 points along with team highs of seven rebounds and five assists. Cody Veronda added 12 points.

St. Bede 68, Roanoke-Benson 60
Joe Pyszka had 16 points and Brad Groleau added 15 Tuesday as the Bruins won a non-conference game on the road.

Ottawa 68, Rochelle 66
John Carroll scored 29 points and hauled in 14 boards Tuesday as the Pirates topped the Hubs in a Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference crossover game in Ottawa.

It was Ottawa’s 10th consecutive victory.

Chase Hill added 14 points for the Pirates (14-3).

Newark 57, Leland-Earlville 26
Colin Baumstad scored eight points Tuesday, while Andrew Walsh and Nolan Baumbach each had seven as the Panthers fell in a Little Ten Conference game on the road.

Fieldcrest 66, Blue Ridge 43
Two Lady Knights scored in double figures as Fieldcrest cruised to a Heart of Illinois Conference victory in Farmer City.

Tessa Holland had 16 points, four rebounds and a pair of assists, while Julia Jochums had 15 points on five 3-pointers.

Newark 58, LaMoille-Ohio 30
Shiela Browning had 10 points and Myrah Graham added nine Tuesday as the Lady Lions fell in the Little Ten Conference Tournament in Serena.

Hall 3,019, Ottawa 2,756
Kaitlyn Padgett rolled a 650 series Tuesday to lead the Lady Red Devils to a non-conference victory in Ladd.

Cherokee Gillispie added a 561 series for Hall.

Natalie Conrad led the Lady Pirates with a 587 series.

Mendota 2,854, Lutheran 2,679
Emily Thomas had a 530 series Tuesday to lead the Lady Trojans to victory in Mendota.
