Roundup: Hall boys bowling downs Ottawa

The Hall boys bowling team rolled past Ottawa on Thursday.

Paced by two 600 series, the Red Devils beat Ottawa 3,425-3,210.

Al Baldonado had games of 204, 221 and 238 as part of a 663 high series for Hall, while David McManus threw a 232 high game as part of a 605 series.

The Pirates were paced by a 579 series from Nick Worley.

GIRLS BOWLING
Ottawa 2803, Kaneland 2757
Natalie Conrad had a career day in Thursday’s Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference road dual.

The Lady Pirate bowler threw games of 237, 172 and 194 for a personal-best 603 series.

Morris 3317, La Salle-Peru 3166
Jess Temple rolled games of 235, 224 and 201 for a 660 series, but the Lady Cavaliers fell in Thursday’s NIB 12 match at Morris.

Gabbi McCabe threw games of 202 and 211, while Mari Brown added a 211 game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Hall 57, DePue 16
Kaylee Golden scored 13 points and Becca Herrman added 10 points as the Lady Red Devils rolled to the Tri-County Conference blowout victory Thursday in DePue.

Ten Hall players scored in the win, which saw the Lady Red Devils hold DePue to five points in the first quarter, one point in the second quarter and two points in the fourth quarter.

Marquette 51, Midland 45
The Lady Crusaders had three players score in double figures as they held off the Lady Timberwolves for the TCC win Thursday in Varna.

Marissa Gama scored a game-high 19 points for Marquette (13-7, 4-2 TCC), while Kendall Kaufmann and Allison Taylor both chipped in 10 points.

The Crusaders took a 17-10 lead after the first quarter and never trailed at the end of a quarter the rest of the way.

Amboy 42, Bureau Valley 19
Nicole Bornsheuer had seven points and five rebounds as the Storm fell in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference game Thursday in Manlius.

Heaven Bennett grabbed 12 rebounds for BV.

El Paso-Gridley 69, Fieldcrest 38
Tessa Holland had 16 points and nine rebounds, but the Lady Knights fell in the Heart of Illinois Conference game Thursday in Minonk.

Fieldcrest trailed 19-16 after the first quarter and was down 33-24 at half.

Haley Ruestman had nine points and three assists for the Lady Knights, while EPG had four players score 12 points or more.

Newark 69, LaMoille-Ohio 37
Shiela Browning scored a team-high 10 points, but the Lady Lions fell in the Little Ten Conference game Thursday in LaMoille.

Kaitlyn Hughes contributed seven points, while Brittany Chasteen, Alissa Schrader and Elizabeth Geuther all grabbed five rebounds.
