Roundup: Marquette boys basketball tops Annawan

The Marquette boys basketball team picked up a 58-49 win over Annawan at home Tuesday night in non-conference action.

Austin McDonnell led the way for the Crusaders (2-3) with 19 points and snagged three steals in the win.

Elliott Kowalksi added 16 points and a team-best five assists for Marquette, which led 36-26 at halftime.

Mooseheart 60, Leland-Earlville 45
Tom Johnson led the way for the Panthers with 18 points, but it wasn’t enough as the co-op fell on the road in Mooseheart.

Andrew Walsh added 13 points for Leland-Earlville (1-4).

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Ottawa 68, Princeton 27
Jalessa Kindred led the way with 19 points as the Lady Pirates plundered a runaway non-conference win from the Tigresses.

Mackenzey Wilson and Zoe Mead had nine points apiece for PHS.

Streator 51, Earlville-Leland 30
Carrissa Miller had a well-rounded game with eight points, four rebounds, two steals and two assists, but it was not enough as the Lady Red Raiders fell at home to Streator.

The Lady Red Raiders trailed 17-4 after the first quarter and fell behind 30-11 at halftime in the non-conference loss.

BOYS BOWLING
Hall 3465, Ottawa 2947
The host Red Devils rolled to a non-conference win over the Pirates Tuesday in Ladd.

Drew Lechner led Hall with a 677 series and a 269 high game, while David McManus added a 645 series.

High roller for the Pirates was Ryan Glasner with games of 255, 181 and 189 for a 625 series.

GIRLS BOWLING
Mendota 2589, Byron 2331
Madison Myers rolled games of 159, 211 and 150 for a match-best 520 series to help the Lady Trojans power past Big Northern Conference West Division foe Byron at home.

Elizabeth Willis added a 484 series and Michaela DeLong chipped in a 474 series for MHS.

Morris 3123, Ottawa 2752
The Lady Pirates dropped a Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference home match to Morris.

Natalie Conrad bowled games of 188, 177 and 193 for a 558 series while Hannah Simpson had a 530 series for Ottawa.
