Roundup up: Ottawa boys basketball sweeps

The Ottawa boys basketball team won a pair of games Friday at its own Dean Riley Shootn’ the Rock Tournament.
The Pirates routed Chicago Muchin 71-31 in their first game then survived 58-55 in overtime against Oak Forest.

PC, BV lose in Wethersfield
The Putnam County and Bureau Valley boys basketball teams each lost Friday at the Wally Keller Invitational.
The Panthers fell 62-57 to the host Flying Geese, while the Storm dropped a 77-63 decision to Elmwood.
Junior Harold Fay led PC with a game-high 28 points. He hit seven two-point baskets and knocked down four 3-points for the Panthers, who led 31-23 at halftime.
Sophomore Parker Neuhalfen paced the Storm with 22 points.
Putnam County and Bureau Valley meet at 8:30 tonight in the final game of the tournament.

PHS falls to Newman
Cole Evenson scored 16 points Friday, but it wasn’t enough Friday as the Princeton boys basketball team fell 54-46 to Sterling Newman in the Sauk Valley Shootout at Sterling High School.
Zach Stroud added eight points for the Tigers, who fell behind 21-8 after the first quarter.

LaMoille-Ohio loses to A-FC
Julian Gonzalez scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds Friday as the Lions fell in the AFC Turkey Tournament.
Brandon Morris added 12 points and 11 rebounds for L-O
