Dani Aurit, junior, Marquette Year: Junior Season highlights: Aurit was the Class 1A St. Bede Regional champion and punched her ticket to state with a seventh-place finish at the Oregon Sectional. The Lady Crusader standout capped off her season at state with a 39th-place finish at 18:36.
Maria Baldwin, Fieldcrest Year: Junior Season highlights: Baldwin earned a repeat trip to the Class 1A state meet where she capped her season with a 24th-place finish and state medal with a time of 18:10. The runner-up at the St. Bede Regional, Baldwin made her way back to state with a fourth-place finish at the Oregon Sectional.
Megan Krolak, La Salle-Peru Year: Sophomore Season highlights: The Lady Cavaliers’ leading lady was the area’s lone Class 2A State qualifier, a distinction she earned after placing 16th at the Peoria Notre Dame Sectional. At state, Krolak capped off the season with a 61st-place finish with a personal-best time of 18:30.
Zoe Mead, Princeton Year: Junior Season highlights: The Tigresses’ top runner managed a trip to sectionals after racing to a seventh-place finish at the Class 1A St. Bede Regional with a time of 20:40 to earn the first indvidual sectional berth. Mead ended her season at the Oregon Sectional, finishing 24th with a time of 20:18.
Ronna Pettis, freshman Year: Freshman Season highlights: The freshman phenom stepped into a big role this year for Henry-Midland and helped the Timberducks earn their first-ever trip to state with a 21st place finish at the Class 1A Oregon Sectional. At state, Pettis finished 87th in 19:26.
Lesly Rocha, La Salle-Peru Year: Sophomore Season highlights: The sophomore first-year runner advanced out of the Class 2A Morris Regional with a fourth-place finish to help the Lady Cavliers advance to sectionals. She went on to finish her season with a strong showing at sectionals, where she finished 33rd at 19:33
Regan Weidner, Bureau Valley Year: Sophomore Season highlights: The 2012 NT Girls Runner of the Year, Weidner's second-place finish in 17:45 at the Class 1A State Meet was the best finish in BV girls history. A regional champion at Rock Falls, Weidner was second at the Oregon Sectional and won three invitationals this fall.
