Basketball roundup: Henry girls edge past LaMoille-Ohio

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Henry 38, LaMoille-Ohio 35
Sophomore Emma Cluskey led the way for Henry with 13 points as the Lady Mallards hung on to beat the Lady Lions in Princeton at the Tigresses Holiday Tournament.

Fellow sophomore Jenah Anderson also stepped up with 11 points for Henry in the victory.

L-O’s Ragen Forbes led all scorers with 17 points, and Kaitlyn Hughes hauled in 16 rebounds for the Lady Lions.

Erie 57, Princeton 19
The Tigresses trailed 9-2 early and rallied to take a 15-13 led in the second quarter but then ran out of offense as Erie opened things up for the lopsided win at the Tigresses Holiday Tournament.

Zoe Mead and Emamalee Sears had six points apiece for PHS (1-1).

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
IVCC 69, Waubonsee 57
IVCC moved to 4-0 on the season with a win over Waubonsee Tuesday night in Oglesby.

Four Eagles landed in double-digit scoring. Arnisha Thomas led the way with 15 points, 13 of which came in the second half as IVCC extended its 27-22 halftime lead.

Brytney Bennett added 14 points, Brooke Johnson had 13, and Sydonia Daniels 11 for the Eagles. Ottawa graduate Kara Kistenfeger had nine points, all on second-half 3-pointers.
