Carly Gonet, Putnam County Year: Junior Average: 52.1 Season highlights: The Lady Panthers golfer had a 52.1 nine-hole average in 13 meets this season and was PC’s best player in the postseason. In the regional, Gonet shot a school-record 96 to help the Lady Panthers advance as a team. At the sectional, the junior shot a team-best round of 111.
Arraia Hicks, Princeton Year: Freshman Average: 54.7 Season highlights: The Tigresses golfer made a name for herself in her first varsity season. Hicks had a 54.7 nine-hole average and was a three-time meet medalist for PHS. She shot a team-low 101 at the Class A Kewanee Regional to help Princeton advance as a team to the sectional.
Gabby Mendoza, St. Bede Year: Junior Average: 50.2 Season highlights: The junior had a 50.2 nine-hole average this fall for the Lady Bruins, which was second on the team. She shot a 108 at Spring Creek Golf Course to advance out of the Class A St. Bede Regional and to her third sectional meet, where she carded a round of 111.
Barbi Prokup, St. Bede Year: Senior Average: 45.2 Season highlights: The 2012 NewsTribune Girls Golfer of the Year led the area with a 45.2 nine-hole average and medaled in 10 of SBA's 14 meets. The Lady Bruins senior placed fifth at the regional and fell a stroke shy of advancing to state as she lost a playoff at the sectional.
Jackie Somolski, La Salle-Peru Year: Sophomore Average: 55.3 Season highlights: The Lady Cavaliers golfer emerged into L-P's top player this season. Somolski had a 55.3 nine-hole average and shot a round of 104 at the Class AA La Salle-Peru Regional to advance to the Normal University Sectional, where she carded a round of 118.
Stephanie Wilson, Putnam County Year: Junior Average: 48.6 Season highlights: The junior was one of the top golfers all season as she was second in the area with a 48.6 nine-hole average. She shot a nine-hole school-record 41 during the season and had a 97 at the regional to help PC advance in its second year with a girls program. At sectionals, Wilson shot a 113.
