Police are searching for a man who tried Saturday to abduct a 10-year-old girl in Utica.
The attempt happened at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Johnson Street and Route 178, where an unidentified male tried to grab a girl as she was walking. The girl was able to pull away and fled the scene.
The assailant was identified as a white male standing 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He wore shoulder-length, wavy black hair, long sideburns to his cheeks and a goatee and mustache. He was wearing a red T-shirt with an eagle emblem on the chest, blue jeans and black sneakers, according to Utica police and La Salle County Sheriff’s Office.
