Weekend of fun in Putnam County

GRANVILLE/MARK — Villages in Putnam County are cooperating to pack a weekend full of activities for people of all ages and interests. The activities start with a movie in the park tonight in Granville and wrap up with fireworks Saturday night in Mark.

For the first time this year, Mark has moved its biggest celebration to the same weekend as Granville’s cruise night.

In addition, Putnam County FFA alumni and members are ready for their annual consignment auction, which is Saturday morning.

Schedule of events:

Movie in the Park in Granville starts at dusk. Donations to the Putnam County Food Pantry are requested. Concessions available.

Cruise Night in Granville
-  Car Cruise: 5-8 p.m.
-  Petting zoo and pony rides: 5-7 p.m.
-  Masonic Lodge Child Identification Program: 5-7 p.m.
-  Putnam County Band: 6 p.m.
-  Putnam County Panteras: 6:30 p.m.
-  Balloon Man: 6-8 p.m.
-  Street dance after the cruise features “Darryl, Hall & Soen Oats” (Darryl Bouxsein, Tom Hall, Ric Soens, Todd Witek)

Mark Homecoming
-  Register for Bocci Ball: 11 a.m.
-  Bocci Ball: noon
-  Register for bags tournament: 1:30 p.m.
-  Bags tournament (cash prizes): 2 p.m.
-  DJ by Danny Everhart: noon-3 p.m.
-  Acoustic by Danny Everhart: 3-6 p.m.
-  Bent Fender: 8 p.m.-midnight
-  Beer garden: noon-midnight
-  Fireworks: dusk
-  Local food vendors
-  Kids’ inflatables sponsored by PC Interact Club
