The Oglesby Summer Fun Fest committee is looking for volunteers Thursday, June 26-Sunday, June 29 to help with various aspects of the festival.

Several volunteers have already signed up to help, but there are still more holes to fill, said Becky Clinard, city clerk.

“With a festival this large in scope, it takes a lot of people to make everything run smoothly,” Clinard said. “The committee is striving for a fun, safe and family friendly environment throughout the long weekend and additional help will make that possible.”

Volunteers are being sought in the areas of ticket sales, ID checks, 50/50 ticket sales, traffic control, Art Sarver Memorial 5K race and Kids Party in the Park.

Ticket sellers are needed for two- to three-hour time slots Thursday-Sunday. Race volunteers are needed Saturday morning, and Party in the Park volunteers are needed Saturday afternoon. Traffic control volunteers are needed Sunday evening prior to the fireworks.

Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Oglesby City Hall at (815) 883-3389.

More information about the festival’s attractions and a complete schedule of events for the festival can be found posted with this story at www.newstrib.com today or at www.oglesbyfunfest.com.
