Make sure you take your posters! Heads deep in the public trough!

Dreaming of a 'cool' place? IVCC organizes Niagara Falls trip. No wonder everyone continues to hang around up there. It’s a “COOL” place for the IVCC administration and employees, while the TAX PAYERS SWEAT.

IVCC closed for business. Fridays off for most all employees during the summer break.

Shut down like congress…………..You can shut down when your paid.

What is IVCC producing? The tax payer should demand a requests of a profit and loss statement.

Board chairman Melissa Olivero and board member David Mallery both expressed concerns that raising tuition will only make the college more unaffordable for Illinois Valley residents wanting to improve their lives.

“It’s basic economics — we’re going to see a decrease in enrollment when prices go up which will cause more revenue problems,” Mallery said. “We’re certainly a better bargain than a university. But I believe there may be an adverse affect. People can’t make the choice to go to school when tuition is so high.”

As for traditional aged students, student trustee Taylor Gunia said the Student Government Association was concerned at first about the tuition hike.

“But knowing that we’re still below the state average and peer average seemed to settle a lot of nerves in our group,” she said.

The average tuition cost at colleges in Illinois that are similar in size to IVCC — also known as the peer average — is $105 per credit hour. The overall state average is about $119 per credit hour.

IVCC president Jerry Corcoran said the college has been judicious in how it balances the cost of tuition and providing programming. In recent years, the college has eliminated 38 full- and part-time positions while making cuts in a variety of other areas.
