Katlyn Rumbold
Princeton Bureau Chief

PRINCETON — Joshua B. Dunehew, 26, of Wyanet remains in custody of the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department on $30,000 bond in connection with an alleged Jan. 27 burglary.

Investigators with the Bureau County Sheriff’s department allege that on Jan. 27, Dunehew unlawfully entered a residence in DePue, where he removed three firearms and ammunition with the intent to exchange them for an unspecified amount of a controlled substance. As a result of a joint investigation with the Chicago Police Department, Dunehew was picked up at an unidentified residence in Chicago on a warrant for failure to appear. A large quantity of a controlled substance along with an unspecified amount of cash was also seized during the arrest.

Bureau County State’s Attorney Patrick Hermann said no new charges had been filed as of Friday. Dunehew will appear in court Monday. Bond set at $30,000 for Wyanet man
