HENRY — University of Illinois Extension Marshall-Putnam Master Gardeners will accept donations throughout January and February to purchase a tree and commemorative plaque in memory of Sharon Acuncius Goldasich.

Sharon, who died in a traffic accident in November, became a master gardener in 2001 and was active in the Marshall-Putnam Master Gardener program for 12 years.

As part of her volunteer hours, she was instrumental in designing the gardens at Putnam County Courthouse in Hennepin.

She was a resident of McNabb and maintained the large planters in downtown McNabb, as well as the park in McNabb.

“She was a dedicated volunteer wanting to contribute her passion for beauty to Putnam County,” read a press release from the extension office.

Marshall-Putnam Master Gardeners would like to plant a tree in Putnam County in Goldasich’s memory.

To donate, mail a check before March 1 to:
University of Illinois Extension, Marshall-Putnam Office;
509 Front St, Suite 4;
Henry, IL 61537

In the memo portion of the check, indicate the donation is for Sharon Goldasich’s memorial.
