MINERAL — Bureau County Sheriff's Office is investigating events surrounding an incident that led to the critical injury of Brandon R. Anthony, 20, of Mineral.

Bureau County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Mineral at 11:45 a.m. Saturday regarding a subject who had reportedly fallen, exited or been ejected from a moving vehicle. Witnesses reported the victim was unresponsive.

When the first sheriff's deputy arrived, the Anthony had been assessed at the scene by Mineral Fire Department personnel, which resulted in him being transported by Sheffield Ambulance and Princeton Fire and Ambulance personnel to Perry Memorial Hospital.

Due to the critical nature of the injuries, EMS personnel arranged for a REACT helicopter transport from the hospital to the emergency trauma center of St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.

The investigation of the incident has resulted in the arrest of two brothers from Aledo, according to sheriff John Thompson. Michael L. Donner, 62, and Roger D. Donner, 58, of 1412 McCloud Road, Aledo, both have were charged by sheriff’s deputies with false personation of a peace officer and possession of cannabis (over 30 grams), the sheriff said in a press release. Both Donner brothers are in the custody of the Bureau County Sheriff, pending their arraignment through the office of the state’s attorney.
