CHERRY — The merger of Cherry and Dimmick schools is not yet “a done deal,” Cherry’s superintendent said today; but Cherry officials will kick it into high gear at a Wednesday meeting.

The Cherry school board meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the school gymnasium to discuss a proposed merger with Dimmick.

Cherry superintendent Jim Boyle said he anticipates a resolution of intent to merge, as well as a detailed explanation of Cherry’s need to partner with another district.

“Many people think it’s a done deal,” Boyle said, “and currently it’s not.”
