Ladd veteran finally receives medals

Adam Kinzinger after the Channahon Republican brought Padgett the the medals for service he was authorized to have per the separation form DD214, and had never received.  The medals Padgett received are the Army Occupation Medal (Japan), Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Medal. Padgett served in the U.S. Army from February 1951 to February 1953 with an honorable discharge and transferred to ERC for five years as a corporal. He and his wife, Minnie, live in Ladd. Present for the ceremony were family members, American Legion officers, the mayor and village clerk of Ladd, the 16th District American Legion Commander and a field representative for the congressman. A light lunch and refreshments were served.
