Two caught with drugs, sawed-off shotgun

NT Staff

Two Colorado men were arrested Sunday on Interstate 80 with drugs and a gun.

Driver Jamison Wojciechowski, 23, of Crestone was charged with possession of cannabis and passenger Jessie Jones, 18, of Moffat was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of an altered firearm at 1:53 p.m. near Utica, according to state police.
A search of the car Wojciechowski was driving uncovered approximately two pounds of suspected cannabis and a loaded, sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, according to police.

As of Monday morning, Jones was being held in La Salle County Jail on a $1 million bond. Wojciechowski had been released on a $30,000 bond.

The Judge does not qualify as a "short-barreled shotgun" under the National Firearms Act of 1934 as its rifled barrel makes it a regular handgun. It is legal in all states except California.

Adendum to above. A shotgun with a sawed off barrel is not legal. What then would you call The Judge?
Is ir legal to own? The barreli is five or six inches long from the factory.
The judge holds five rounds. .45 cal and 410 shotgun shells in the same cylinder.
Is it then just a shotgun with an extreamly short barrel or a revolver with an average barrel?
Tell me please as it is advertised for sale just for home defencs and I would not want to break the law. I woulldn't So please tell me.

Great, some one agrees that restrictions can and have been put on second amendment rights.
Oops! Wait. The second amendment does not say the right to bear guns. No it reads the right to bear arms.
Def. of arms. That's a tough one. Probably includes guns, knives of which almost every state has laws to determine what kind can be carried, grenade launchers, rocket launchers and a whole host of weapons of mass destruction that can kill many from a distance and never be seen.
It has been said that I like, or take pleasure in bashing gun owners. Not true. I don't. Really.
Here is what I do enjoy. The laughter of young children freely playing. Not a care in the world. As it should be. Rolling in the snow, making snow angles, sledging and rolling down a grassy hill, playing hide and seek and looking for objects in the clouds.

Dec 14 2012, 22 children killed or wounded, that we know of.
Here are the sad facts. Dec 15 2012 to Jan 7th 2013, four hundred eighty six, approx. children shot, killed or wounded. Some dead or maimed for life by guns.
Sad. No. Unacceptable.
I enjoy seeing children playing, running in play with out a look of fear in their eyes, and not from some one shooting at them.
No one likes that you say and guns must be taken out of the hands of the mentally ill, right, that would be good. Ok. How?
Many say that you cannot give them a mental test before a gun is purchased. Many say that ongoing mental stress test should not be used, perhaps randomly. And certainly, not you. Against your rights.

You see, the constitution , in it's body, states that life, liberty and the pursuit of property, later changed to happiness is your right. The right to arm was an after thought, came much later and was debated and it's meaning is still debated. Right?

Do I enjoy bashing gun owners? Nah. It's futile. Can't be done. It's like telling an addict they have a problem. Not their fault.

It5 is said here that these people were committing a crime. What crime. Twenty lbs. of pot leaving a state where it is legal going deliver to a state where it may be legal. You see. many want pot to be legal and some places have made it so. Can a mail man or woman the transport it from one legal place to another. Who con make that determination? You? Me/? Who?
What I would like is for this paper and all papers and TV networks to do is post a daily list of all children under eighteen who have been shot, killed wounded by a gun.
Could you stand that? Could you? Really? Remember, not all would have been shot by those you call crazy. Some by bro.or sister playing with a gun left out by a doped up or drunk, or "loving" parent.
What do all of you think? Twenty shot in Afghanistan in the last month and over four hundred children in the USA.
I would think that you would be fighting with every thing you have to save even one of those children. One would be wrong though.Huh.

Metalworker, you seem to enjoy blasting gun owners for some reason. A sawed off shotgun is just that. The barrel is sawed off making it shorter. There is a legal length it needs to be to be considered a shotgun. (more than 18 inches, by the way) Your sarcasm sounds childish on this subject. If these fine upstanding folks were doing nothing wrong then why did they have 2 pounds of pot? An altered weapon is illegal to possess. But I guess you need to push your selfish views on the gun subject any way you can. Shame on you.

Were these two not within their constitutional rights?
After all the second amendment rives everyone the right to bear arms.
Nowhere does it say what kind.
That is what all of you NRA members are saying, is it not?
Wait, maybe that constitution is not for every one. I beter read that again.
Me, I think that the police did the right thing, but, I may be wrong.
What do you think.
If they had an AR15 Bushmaster, would that have been OK?
How do the police know there was intent to deliever? Is that not an assumption?
Did they pick up the weapon and threaten the officers. Does not say so.
One would think that a good att. could get them off just on a second ammeendment rights violation.

Could be. Be very careful what kind of freedoms you ask for as those freedoms apply to all and not just a few.
