A group of Trinity Catholic Academy students are keeping up a tradition of giving.

Students in Deb Myers’ class chose to collect toys for patients in St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Peoria as their eighth-grade service project, and on Monday they loaded up more than 100 toys to be taken to the hospital.

The class collected more than 100 toys for ages ranging for toddlers to teens and delivered the toys to the hospital after school.

The students not only collected toys but also decorated ornaments for a Christmas tree in St. Patrick’s Church that they named “Andrew's Tree” after a former student who was a patient at St. Jude's.
