Hall High School Board president Jack Boroski made the first and only nomination Thursday for a new board president, that person being John Piccatto Jr. The board voted unanimously in favor of the nomination.

Firefighters cut battery cables to halt car fire
Oglesby firefighters put out a car fire first reported just after 11 a.m. in the Illinois Valley Community College parking lot. When firefighters arrived, there was just a little smoke inside the car. Soon that became a lot of smoke that blackened the inside of the windows.
