House Bill 4245 — Requires courts to release first-time, non-violent offenders on their own recognizance. Filed Jan. 21 by Rep. Monique Davis (D-Chicago). Defeated April 4 in the House 33-73. Rep. Frank Mautino (D-Spring Valley) voted no.
Senate Bill 3149 — Diabetics can’t be charged with indecent exposure for injecting insulin in public. Filed Feb. 11, 2014, by Sen. Mattie Hunter (D-Chicago). Passed the Senate 54-0 on April 1.
