La Salle County deputies had to kill a dog after it attacked its master near Wenona early Saturday morning.
At 2 a.m., deputies and Wenona emergency medical technicians were dispatched to 781 N1050th Road regarding “an animal attack.”
A La Salle County Sheriff’s Office news release read as follows:
“Thomas A. Miller, 24, same address, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for serious injuries he received from an attack from his Labrador retriever. Deputies stated the animal was put down at the scene.
“It was not known why the animal attacked the owner and remains under investigation by La Salle County animal control office.”
On Sunday, St. Mary's Hospital indicated Miller had been treated and released.
