Two representatives from the FBI will be at Peru police station Tuesday and Thursday for pre-scheduled meetings with a few patients of Dr. Constantino Perales, two police sources and two Illinois Valley residents confirmed.
The police sources, however, did not release information about the FBI’s operation. The FBI personnel reportedly will be in town to meet with people who had made written requests to the FBI to receive copies of their medical records.
Jeffery Maurer of Peru and his wife, Norine, were among Perales’ patients. He said he received a call from the office of U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger telling him to go to the police station to pick up medical records between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Maurer said he had never heard anything from the FBI, but he had submitted a request in writing through Kinzinger’s office.
