OTHS Superintendent Matt Winchester told board members Monday during their regular monthly meeting that certain areas of the school’s boiler room had taken on a little water but it wasn’t from the flood.
“We had a few inches near the boiler room but that was due to the heavy rains, not flooding,” he explained. “Rain came down so fast that our pumps couldn’t keep up.”
Winchester said the school received no flood damage thanks to the efforts of students, faculty and staff filling sandbags and creating flood walls to keep water away from the building.
