NewsTribune Reporter

IVCC president Jerry Corcoran told board members Tuesday during their regular monthly meeting that the circle drive closing date would be pushed back to April 22, and pouring of a temporary sidewalk, relocation of temporary fencing and installation of new traffic signage should take place at the end of the month.

“All of the east campus work looks great and right now the only challenges we’re dealing with are a few unavoidable weather delays,” said IVCC president Jerry Corcoran.

Work inside the building is moving along. Some equipment start-up projects have been successful, air and water testing is commencing and fiber optic cable will be run soon, Corcoran said.

In other business:

n Board members approved sabbatical leave requests for instructors Amanda Cook-Fesperman and Kim Radek.

n Board members approved to file a property tax appeal resolution with 10 other taxing bodies against Exelon Generating Station concerning the value of the power generation facility located in western La Salle County.

n Board members were notified of the following staff retirements: Cheryl Duke, administrative assistant I, continuing education; Lolita Schmitz, shipping and receiving assistant; Mary Needham, administrative assistant I, truck driver training; Judy Meling, untility assistant, part-time; and the resignation of Gail Divan, program manager — business and workforce development.
