S. 155 — Changes the name of Alaska’s Mt. McKinley to Denali. Filed Jan. 28, 2013, by U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).

H.R. 402 — Alaska’s highest mountain would remain Mount McKinley. Filed Jan. 23, 2013, by U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio).

House Bill 1038 and Senate Bill 1518 — Property tax bills must include an itemized attachment showing what percentage of taxes will be used to meet government pension obligations. Filed Jan. 30, 2013, by Rep. Michael Tryon (R- Crystal Lake). SB 1518 filed Feb. 7, 2013, by Sen. Michael Connelly (R-Wheaton).

House Bill 1030 — It is a civil rights violation for an employer to refuse to provide reasonable accommodations to a pregnant employee. Filed Jan. 30, 2013, by Rep. Mary Flowers (D-Chicago).

House Bill 1037 — Construction zone speed limits apply only when workers are present. Filed Jan. 30, 2013, by Rep. Michael Tryon (R-Crystal Lake).

Senate Bill 1269 and House Bill 1311 — Gives probation offices and prisons the authority to investigate and track methamphetamine “precursors,” that is, ingredients used in the manufacture of crystal meth. SB 1269 filed Jan. 31, 2013, by Sen. William Haine (D-Alton). HB 1311 filed Jan. 31, 2013, by Rep. John Cavaletto (R-Salem). Passed the House 111-0 on March 1, 2013.

House Bills 182 and 2223 — Eliminates an exemption in the Open Meetings Act that allows governments to close the doors during collective bargaining. HB 182 filed Jan. 18, 2013, by Rep. Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton). HB 2223 filed Feb. 14, by Rep. Joe Sosnowski (R-Belvidere).

House Bill 1022 — No court-supervised drug and alcohol treatment for stalkers. Filed Jan. 30, 2013, by Rep. Lawrence Walsh Jr. (D-Joliet).
